Florence, UX Architect, has been named as a creative star who is Rising to the Top, a category which honours those who are showing great promise in their first five years.
Florence left a career in sales to pursue UX because it sits at a fascinating intersection of psychology, creativity and technology. However, it’s Florence’s dedication to making technology accessible to everyone as consumers and creators that really sets her apart.
Florence is lead co-organiser of London’s Ladies That UX chapter, moderating talks and arranging speakers and sponsorship from some of London’s biggest tech companies. This year, she hosted a Ladies That UX event at MullenLowe Group UK’s offices focused on career development and guidance for designers entering the industry. Florence has also volunteered as a digital mentor for Routes Collective, which pairs professional women with women from refugee backgrounds for 1:1 mentoring.
In her time at MullenLowe Profero, she has worked with clients like the NHS, HSBC, Diageo, DHSC, Moleskine and Art Fund. Florence brings skills and insight beyond her three years of experience to be the foundation on these projects, always centering the needs of users. She has often been singled out by clients for her clear insight into their challenges and the quality of her output.
User Experience is still a relatively new and evolving discipline, far less established than other creative disciplines in how it is practiced and how well it is understood. As such, it’s up to the people who practice UX to determine its future and its value, which is why Florence has been honoured for ‘Rising to the Top.’
